Ocarina of Time remake: all 13 songs and how to unlock them
Updated

Thirteen songs, none of them free at the start
In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake there are 13 songs to learn, according to Polygon · Gaming news. You don't get them all at the beginning. You have to move forward in the story and search across Hyrule to unlock each one.
The songs do real work in the game. They let you change the time of day, call your horse, and teleport. Polygon calls them essential to progress and good melodies to listen to.
The guide carries a spoiler warning, so read on knowing it names locations and story moments.
The early songs: Zelda's Lullaby, Epona's Song, Sun's Song
Zelda's Lullaby uses Y - X - A - Y - X - A. You learn it by talking to Zelda in Hyrule Castle the first time. Play it on or in front of any Triforce.
Epona's Song is X - Y - A - X - Y - A. Talk to Malon at Lon Lon Ranch after you wake Talon and he goes home. It calls Epona as an adult or lets you milk a cow.
Sun's Song is A - R - X - A - R - X. Play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce at the east end of the Graveyard, reach the end of the crypt, and you'll learn it. It changes the time of day.
Saria's Song, Song of Time and Song of Storms
Saria's Song is R - A - Y - R - A - Y. Get through the Lost Woods and the Sacred Grove, then talk to Saria. You can talk to her whenever you like.
Song of Time is A - L - R - A - L - R. After collecting all the Spiritual Stones, go back to Hyrule Castle. Play it in front of time cubes to move them.
Song of Storms is L - R - X - L - R - X. As an adult, talk to the Music Man inside the windmill in Kakariko Village. It summons wind and rain.
The teleport songs Sheik teaches you
Minuet of the Forest is L - Y - X - A - Y - A. Reach the Forest Temple entrance and Sheik teaches it. It warps you to that entrance.
Prelude of Light is X - A - X - A - Y - X. Return to the Temple of Time after finishing a temple and Sheik teaches it. It warps you to the Temple of Time.
Bolero of Fire is R - L - R - L - A - R - A - R, taught at the Fire Temple. Serenade of Water is L - R - A - A - Y, taught after you collect the Iron Boots in the Ice Cavern. Nocturne of Shadow is Y - A - A - L - Y - A - R, taught after three temples when Kakariko Village is on fire. Requiem of Spirit is L - R - L - A - R - L, taught at the Spirit Temple. Each one warps you to the matching temple entrance.
Scarecrow Song: you pick the notes
The Scarecrow Song is the odd one out. Its inputs are custom: you choose them. As young Link, teach the scarecrows a song at Lake Hylia. Then come back as adult Link and play the same notes.
Whatever inputs you use become the Scarecrow Song. It summons Pierre, the scarecrow.
Polygon notes the remake differs a bit from the original, and points to walkthroughs for every dungeon, from the Deku Tree to Ganondorf's Castle. There are also guides for side content like finding Richard the dog or the Cuccos, plus every Piece of Heart, Gold Skulltula token and Magic Bean spot for 100% runs.
