Sale prices for Remake and Rebirth

Square Enix is hosting a large sale on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 eShop, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth are included at $7.99 and $7.49 respectively, Polygon reports. Remake on Switch 2 normally retails for $39.99, while Rebirth is discounted from $49.99. The Switch 2 version of Remake includes the Intergrade DLC, which adds Episode Yuffie, introducing the Wutai ninja and exploring some of the trilogy's lore. Rebirth's discount covers just the base game.

Deluxe DLC for Rebirth at $3

A deluxe edition DLC set for Rebirth is also on sale for $3, down from $20. According to Polygon, it includes the Magic Pot summoning materia, the Orchid Bracelet armor, the Reclaimant Choker accessory, a digital art book and a digital mini-soundtrack. Polygon notes that the DLC contains no story expansion.

Performance of both games on Switch 2

Polygon reports that Remake on Switch 2 runs well apart from some occasional choppiness: the frame rate stays steady, including in combat, though resolution sometimes takes a hit. The enclosed spaces of Midgar reduce the need to render distant objects, according to the outlet, while the hair can be distracting, similar to Resident Evil 4 remake on Switch 2 in handheld mode. Rebirth puts more strain on the hardware as an open-world game with more going on; Polygon notes frequent asset pop-in and less detailed character models than on PS5, but says the game still runs well and frame drops rarely occur during pivotal moments or battles.
