1. Data controller

The controller is Arsolving Multiservice Group S.r.l.s. (VAT 02464290689), Strada della Bonifica 48/1, 65129 Pescara (PE), Italia. For any question about this policy or your data, write to info@sircompare.com.

The controller is established in Italy, so the GDPR applies to the data of every visitor, whichever country they browse from. Rules that apply to this market: Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).

2. What data we handle

Sir Compare is a product comparison and ranking site. You do not need an account to read it. We handle this data:

  • Browsing data (technical logs). IP address, browser type, requested page, date and time. The hosting infrastructure generates them automatically for security and diagnostics. The IP address is also used, in memory only and without being stored, to limit abusive requests.
  • Language and market you choose. Two cookies remember the language and market you pick. They contain no personal identifier.
  • Record of your cookie choices. When you choose, we keep a random identifier your browser generated, the date, the version of the text, the market and your choices (statistics, external content, advertising). It exists to prove consent. We do not store your IP address or device details.
  • Usage statistics. A random identifier in a session cookie (deciqo_sid) links the pages of a single visit: pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, clicks on internal links and offers, and the page you came from. We do not store your IP address or device details with these events, and the identifier is not linked to a name, email or other data. With your consent the same measurement also goes through Google Analytics 4 (Google), which receives the address of the page, where you came from and your IP address.
  • Clicks on offers and partner links. When you click an offer you pass through one of our own addresses that takes you to the merchant's site. We count the click per page and date, with no visitor attached; if statistics are on, we also record an event tied to the session identifier.
  • Newsletter and followed topics. If you subscribe: email address, language and frequency chosen, topics or products you follow, the date and version of the consent text, and the codes (stored in hashed form) used to confirm and cancel the subscription. A verification message confirms the subscription.
  • Price alerts. If you set an alert: email address, the product watched, the price threshold or drop requested, and the date and version of your consent.
  • Messages you send us. Your name, your email address and the content of the message.
  • Embedded videos. Some pages show YouTube videos: the player (in privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com) and the thumbnails (i.ytimg.com). YouTube receives your IP address and technical data when this content loads. In the German market, and wherever you refuse it in the cookie settings, it does not load until you agree.

3. Purposes and legal basis

4. Who receives the data

Data is not sold. It is received by:

  • the hosting provider that runs the site's servers, as a processor;
  • the email delivery provider, for confirmation, newsletter and alert messages, as a processor;
  • YouTube (Google), on pages that embed a video: it is an independent controller for what it does with the data it receives;
  • merchants and affiliate programs (for example Amazon): when you click an offer you go to their site and their own policies apply. We send them no personal data of yours: the link carries only our partner identifier;
  • Google (Google Analytics 4), which measures the use of the site after you agree and may use its own cookies and identifiers, as an independent controller;

5. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some recipients, such as YouTube (Google), are established outside the European Economic Area. In those cases the transfer relies on a European Commission adequacy decision or on standard contractual clauses (Arts. 45 and 46 GDPR).

6. How long we keep data

We keep data only as long as the purpose requires:

  • Browsing data (technical logs). technical logs stay in the hosting infrastructure only as long as security and diagnostics need them;
  • Language and market you choose. the language and market cookies last one year;
  • Record of your cookie choices. 36 months from the choice, then deleted automatically;
  • Usage statistics. the session cookie expires after 30 minutes of inactivity; raw events are deleted automatically after 25 months; aggregate totals contain no identifier and are kept;
  • Clicks on offers and partner links. the per-page click total has no visitor attached and is kept; the session-linked event follows the statistics retention (25 months);
  • Newsletter and followed topics. until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your address on a list of people who must not be contacted again, until you ask us to erase it;
  • Price alerts. until you cancel the alert. After that we keep the address only to honour the cancellation, until you ask us to erase it;
  • Messages you send us. for as long as needed to handle your request;
  • Embedded videos. we keep nothing; YouTube applies its own retention.

  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw consent at any time.

8. Complaints

There is no single data protection authority in the United States: you can write to us. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom you may contact your own national authority.

9. Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. Where the law of your country sets a higher age for giving consent (between 13 and 16 in the European Union), the newsletter and alerts need a parent's consent.

10. Notes for your country

We offer the rights listed above to all visitors, including residents of California and other US states.

We do not sell or share personal data for behavioural advertising.
