TikTok Shop app: features and countries

A separate app for shopping on TikTok
TikTok has put out a standalone app for TikTok Shop in a handful of countries. Social media consultant Matt Navarra spotted it, and the App Store listing lays out what it does.
The app offers personalized picks based on your interests, live streams and short videos where you can see products in action, and app-only deals with free shipping offers and first-order benefits. It also lists secure payments for checkout and order tracking with 24/7 support from purchase to delivery.
It's on Android too, not just iOS.

Where you can get it right now
The rollout is narrow. Navarra says the app is currently listed in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, and not in the UK or US App Store. The Verge's Jay Peters writes that he doesn't see it on the US App Store on his iPhone.
So if you're in the US or UK, there's nothing to download yet. TikTok didn't immediately reply to a request for comment.
What to check before you install
If the app shows up in your store, the listing is the place to start: it spells out the app-only deals and first-order benefits, plus the payment and tracking features. Those are the seller's own descriptions, not results from a hands-on test.
I haven't tried the app, so I can't tell you how the checkout or the deals work in practice. What's left to verify is whether the listing expands beyond those four countries and when.
