What Strategy shareholders approved

Strategy shareholders backed a proposal to pay dividends every business day on four preferred securities. The company said 99.3% of votes cast supported the change.

The amendments cover STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD. They replace the existing semi-monthly or quarterly schedules with distributions each business day. Dividends keep accruing over weekends and holidays, and the annual rates stay the same.

Strategy expects STRC to start daily payments on Nov. 2, with the other three following on Jan. 4, 2027. The company argues the shorter cycle could improve liquidity and reduce price swings in its preferred shares.

The rates behind the schedule change

The four securities currently carry annual dividend rates between 8% and 12%. STRC pays a variable 12%, while the other three offer fixed rates.

The move follows a similar step by rival Bitcoin treasury company Strive. Strive introduced daily dividends on its SATA preferred stock in June and later raised $630 million through a second preferred offering, SATS, at a 15% annual rate.

Strategy remains the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, with 848,517 BTC, against Strive's 43,000 BTC.

Coinbase: contact data exposed at a vendor

Coinbase said some customers' contact information was exposed in a security incident at analytics vendor Amplitude. The exchange described the affected group as a small subset of customers, alongside other Amplitude clients.

Coinbase denied that its own systems were breached and said customer funds were not affected. The disclosure came the same day as other reported cyberattacks on crypto and traditional finance firms.

In South Korea, Bithumb is investigating whether a breach of its internal work platform exposed customer information. Brokerage Daishin Securities reported a leak of personal and credit data belonging to 38,490 customers.

Tokenized stocks: the regulatory question

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev said uncertainty over how long US tokenization rules will last could keep investors from committing serious assets to tokenized markets. He spoke on the company's third-quarter earnings call on Tuesday.

Tenev welcomed the SEC's innovation exemption, which opened a temporary path for onchain stock trading this year. He added that further rulemaking or legislation is needed for longer-term certainty. He said that, based on conversations with customers, uncertainty about what happens in five years is likely an impediment to putting serious assets onto the technology.

Tokenized stock offerings have drawn resistance from traditional issuers. Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs were among 16 companies that objected to their shares being offered on the proposed OKXICE venue. AMC CEO Adam Aron separately criticized Robinhood's tokenized stock products.
