PS5 in October 2026: release dates, genres and what's coming

Sony's own monthly PlayStation page sets out the PS5 games it is highlighting for October 2026. Each entry comes with a release date, a genre and a publisher, as written on that page.

The page also covers the month's PlayStation Plus titles and new trailers. I've kept to what it states and left out anything it doesn't.

One thing to know up front: some dates on the page don't line up with the year in its own heading. I flag those where they appear rather than guess a correction.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is listed with a release of 10/15/26, genre FPS, publisher Activision Blizzard. The page describes a single-player campaign set across New York, Paris and North Korea, plus 6v6 tactical multiplayer and large-scale arenas.

Phantom Blade Zero carries a release of 10/29/26, genre stylish action, publisher S-GAME. The hook is a hero with 66 days to live, hunting the conspiracy behind his master's death in a kungfupunk setting inspired by wuxia cinema.

Both entries point readers toward trailers, screenshots and editions on the same page.

STAR WARS: Galactic Racer is listed with a release date of 10/26/06, genre racing, publisher Secret Mode. The pitch is podracing: build a custom speeder and climb the Galactic League, with the choice to race clean or shove rivals off the track.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve shows a release date of 10/26/02, genre simulation, publisher Bandai Namco. The page claims the most stacked online options the series has seen, including 100-player air base lobbies and co-op or competitive modes.

Those two dates carry years that don't match the October 2026 heading, so treat them as printed rather than confirmed.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse appears in a character-focused slot rather than the dated list. The page introduces Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor, who takes up the Vampire Killer whip when beasts overrun Paris in 1499.

The entry says the game is available on October 15, without a genre or publisher attached. I'm not filling those in from elsewhere.

If you're weighing it up, the page gives you a protagonist and a setting, not a genre label to compare against the rest of the month.

Valour Mortis is listed with a release date of 10/13/26, genre action, publisher Lyrical Games. Its premise is alternate history: a Napoleonic victory at Waterloo unleashing a supernatural plague on 19th-century Europe, played as a first-person soulslike.

Silver Pines shows a release date of 10/26/08, genre horror, publisher Team 17. You play a private detective searching for a missing musician in a 2D take on survival horror, managing bullets and medicine as you go.

The Silver Pines date again carries a year that doesn't match the page heading.

The page also lists games available to download with any PlayStation Plus plan, kept for as long as you stay a member. The three it names are F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defence Force: World Brothers 2.

F1 25 is described around Formula 1 racing modes for newcomers and veterans. Hunt: Showdown 1896 is an online extraction shooter played solo or with friends. Earth Defence Force: World Brothers 2 is co-op against giant insects and monsters, for up to four players online.

No prices or claim windows are given on the page, so I haven't added any.
