What the new price is

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has announced another increase for its single-board computers. From November 2026, the Raspberry Pi 5 with 16 GB of RAM costs $80 more, at $385 from approved resellers.

The same board launched at $120 in 2025. It reached $205 in early 2026, and later step-by-step rises brought it to $305 before this latest jump.

Which boards change and which don't

The increase isn't limited to the 16 GB Pi 5. The Raspberry Pi 5 Compute Module (CM5) with 16 GB also goes up, by $40.

For now, the Raspberry Pi 500+ keyboard PC keeps its price. The foundation says it wants to roll back the increases once memory costs fall again.

Why the price keeps climbing

The foundation links the rises to an ongoing memory crisis, driven by huge demand from the AI industry and data centre operators, made worse by a supply chain that isn't diversified.

It has also brought out a 3 GB Raspberry Pi 4 and a dual-RAM model using lower-density chips. It suggests buyers work out how much RAM they actually need. The report notes that some industry figures expect memory costs to stay high until the mid-2030s.
