Phantom Blade Zero: 4m copies sold in 72 hours
Updated

Four million copies in three days
S-Game has announced that Phantom Blade Zero sold more than 4 million copies in its first 72 hours on sale. The studio shared the news on the game's official X account with a thank-you message to players.
The 4 million figure covers Steam, PlayStation 5 and the China-only Tencent WeGame PC launcher. S-Game did not break the total down by platform, so the split between each store is not public.
Steam peak of 833,921 players
On Steam the game opened with over 431,000 concurrent players. That number kept climbing through the weekend and settled at a peak of 833,921 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.
By that measure it is Steam's biggest launch of the year so far, ahead of Forza Horizon 6 and well clear of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, The Blood of Dawnwalker and Ace Combat 8.

Still behind Black Myth: Wukong
The opening weekend has not matched Black Myth: Wukong, the other Chinese-made triple-A action game from 2024. That title is estimated at 30 million copies sold and peaked at 2,415,714 concurrent players on Steam at launch.
In Eurogamer's review of Phantom Blade Zero, Emma Kent praised the animations and environments but criticised the story and its uneven quality. She wrote that combat flows well until a boss fight, where the sense of power fades.
